Your Teams Meeting link will be sent one day before the webinar. \n \nRobert Hughes\, world-class para-athlete\, shares a powerful message on resilience\, breaking barriers\, and redefining disability through lived experience and elite sport. \n\n\n\nRobert Hughes began his remarkable journey in athletics in 1998\, driven by the encouragement of a local club president who recognized his potential. His dedication and hard work culminated in a memorable performance at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics at the age of 17\, where he proudly secured fifth place in both the men’s discus and javelin events. \nAs a world champion\, he achieved a gold medal at the 2005 CP-ISRA World Games in Discus and followed this with a bronze in shot put at the 2006 IPC Athletics World Championships\, as well as a silver medal at the 2007 Para Pan-American Games. \nComing from a family steeped in Olympic heritage\, Robert’s relentless positivity and spirit inspire many. \nAfter graduating from Lambton College Sports and Recreation Administration Program\, he concluded his career in 2016\, having established himself as a 17-time Canadian Champion. \nHe currently works for the as a statistician for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League
